More than 20 organizations across Canada, including the Canadian Health Coalition, have issued an open letter on Alberta’s Health Statutes Amendment Act, 2025 (No. 2). The statement, sent to Prime Minister Mark Carney and Health Minister Marjorie Michel, warns that the law enables a two-tier health care system, undermines the principles of Medicare, and sets a dangerous precedent for other provinces. Nova Scotia Health Coalition will be holding a press conference at 11 am at NSGEU, 255 John Savage Ave, Dartmouth, NS, and asks Nova Scotians to call their MPs at 1 pm to ask them to enforce the Canada Health Act.
